NOTES:
Some of the bibliographic references contained in the above
references have minor conflicts in their titles, subtitles,
publication numbers, and dates. Conflicts have been resolved to
the best possible extent.
The Joint Publications Research Service translates foreign press
articles, including Russian/soviet space articles. These articles
are available from the National Technical Information Service.

Call your local US Government federal center bookstore (see the
blue pages in your phone book). They might have a few current and
out of print books simply laying on their shelves. Most of these
books are very inexpensive. They will take phone orders and charge
to Visa/MC (and they pay shipping). The sales person said most
books are "destroyed" (!) after a specified shelf life. Too bad.
Call now, before they burn.

You know, I hate to be a wet rag, but these analogies are pretty much
meaningless. The space shuttle is not a winnebago or a dump truck or a
Lamborgini (or Lamborghini? It's not in my dictionary).
The space shuttle is a space shuttle. To understand what it is and why it
was built that way we have to study what it is and why it was built that way.
A dump truck, a winnebago and a half million dollar sports car each have
different functions, advantages and disadvantages and different people have
different interpretations of them. Metaphores are great for expressing
images or emotions. They are not very useful for engineering.
